Tourism Destinations

1. Kandy

  • One of the most visited tourist spots in Sri Lanka is Kandy, a large city in the hill country that forms part of the Cultural Triangle of the nation. It has a stunning lake inside the city and is encircled by tea plantations and mountains covered in rainforest. Explore the vibrant streets of the city, taking in the architecture and stopping to eat from the numerous street vendors; Visit the Temple of the Tooth, a revered temple that holds the tooth of Buddha; Take a stroll around the lake to enjoy the picturesque vistas of the water and the vibrant structures dotted along the hillsides; also, take a short drive outside the city to the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens to see the gardens' orchid house and spice garden, the latter of which will offer you a sensory exploration of the nation's indigenous spices.

 2. Sigiriya

  • This enormous rock formation, which rises from the surrounding flatlands, is not only a sight to behold as you get closer but also has important cultural and historical significance. A fort and palace from the fifth century made up the UNESCO World Heritage site. If you're willing to walk the 1,217 steps to the top of the rock, there is a system of winding paths and staircases. You'll see expansive views of the surrounding valley, come across prehistoric rock paintings by monks, and discover more about the kingdom that once inhabited this rock along the route. Arrive at the park at if you intend to complete the climb, which we strongly advise.

3. Galle

  • One of Sri Lanka's remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites is this walled old city on the southwest coast. Strolling along the fort's ramparts, which offer views of the city and the water, is one of the best things to do. To discover more about the history and architecture of the fort, you can also go on a self-guided tour. Galle is a great place to shop, even though the fort is the main draw for tourists. Stroll the pedestrian-friendly streets and take in the numerous art galleries, upscale markets, and boutiques offering clothing, jewelry, trinkets, and home goods.

4. Nuwara Eliya

  • Traveling to the undulating hills of tea country is highly recommended, as tea is one of Sri Lanka's most valuable exports. You can visit a number of tea production facilities in Nuwara Eliya, which span hundreds of acres, and learn about the whole process of making tea at home, from planting to picking. After you’ve had your fill of tea, don’t forget to explore Nuwara Eliya’s other stunning environs, like the immaculate Victoria Park, Lake Gregory for a day at the lake or a picnic by the lake, or the stunning, 350-foot-tall Ramboda Falls.

5. Mirissa

  • Mirissa, one of the top beach towns in the nation, draws travelers seeking a relaxed getaway that consists of nights spent on the town and days spent relaxing on the beach. Two of Mirissa's most beautiful beaches are Secret Beach and Mirissa Beach because of their isolation and beauty, without becoming overly crowded. If you prefer to be in the water, Mirissa is a surfer's dream come true, especially from October to April. It's also a well-liked stop for whale watching tours in search of blue whales. Hit up some of the laid-back yet vibrant restaurants and bars after a day in the sun. A sunset cocktail would be ideal at some of the establishments that are directly on the beach.
